Textile development Able exoskeleton

ABLE Human Motion is a medical device company that develops exoskeletons to improve the mobility, health, and quality of life of people with gait disorders of neurological origin.

ABLE needed a partner capable of assisting them in developing the textile part of their system.

The challenge was to design textile components that combined comfort, fit, durability, ease of use, industrialization, and a single sizing system adaptable to all body types, while simultaneously meeting the demanding quality requirements associated with a medical device regulated under ISO 13485.

At Proline Barcelona, we work alongside the ABLE Human Motion team in defining and developing various textile solutions, focusing on aspects such as:

• Ergonomics and ease of use

• Universal system

• Durable and resistant materials

• Easy to attach and detach (6 minutes)

• Functional integration with the device's structure and requirements

• Manufacturing feasibility and industrial reproducibility

The collaborative work made it possible to move towards textile components designed not only to function technically, but also to respond to the real needs of the product and its users.

This type of development requires combining textile knowledge, understanding of the final device, and the ability to transform a prototype into a manufacturable solution with industrial and quality criteria.
